I’ve always loved reading and writing, but I never considered writing as a career until a former manager suggested I write a book because my business reports read more like stories. Great idea, but what on earth would I write about?
A year or so later, a friend presented me with a gift voucher for a telephone clairvoyant to help me through a crossroads in my life and career. That telephone call changed my life. The clairvoyant told me that I was going to move back home, start my own business, then meet and marry the man of my dreams. Oh, and his name would be Steven! Let the search commence! I didn’t actually find Steven, but I did find the premise for my first novel.
In September 2014, I secured a three-book publishing contract because, once I’d found my premise for ‘Steven’, the ideas kept coming but I parted company with my publisher in late 2016 and re-launched the trilogy as an indie writer under the imprint of Little Bear Books.
All my stories are set in Whitsborough Bay, a fictional North Yorkshire seaside town inspired by the towns and villages along the stunning North Yorkshire Coast, particularly Scarborough where I live.
I live with my husband (a non-Steven), my daughter, Felix the cat, Ella the Sprocker Spaniel puppy, and an ever-growing hug of collectible teddy bears although, if Ella has her way, they'll be a collection of heads and limbs instead!
By day I'm a freelance Human Resources tutor. By night I’m a Brown Owl and a writer.
